The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee (DSAMT) organizes the Nashville Buddy Walk® to celebrate and support individuals with Down syndrome and their families and to promote understanding and acceptance of those with Down syndrome. Approximately 5,000 participants from Middle Tennessee are expected at this year’s Buddy Walk®, making it the largest Down syndrome awareness event in the state and our primary source of funding for our programs. In 2019, it will be on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Hermitage.
The Nashville Buddy Walk would in no way be possible without the help from all of our wonderful volunteers! Each year this wonderful event grows and this year is no exception, we are thrilled with an expecting number of 5,000 attendees.
Volunteer needs at Buddy Walk include:
Set Up/ Take Down
Cheering on those with Down syndrome as they cross the finish line
Working the Kidzone: games and inflatables
Photographers
Registration/T-shirt Booth
Food Vendors
Trash Monitoring
Buddy Volunteers
AND much more!!
Volunteers will need to arrive at 6:30 a.m.
Each volunteer receives a free t-shirt and is guaranteed to bring smiles, joy, and laughter to so many families at the walk. Each volunteer must register online and agree to the terms. Volunteers registered after October 6th are still very much needed and appreciated, but are not guaranteed a t-shirt the day of the walk!
